Minimalist photography at its best! What on earth is the horizontal line through the image? I thought it was a scratch but a closer look doesn't support that....
Well, it has been 16 years since I made this image, but I have always assumed that it was mortar that held the stones together.As I recollect, it was an exterior wall in the courtyard of the Petit Palais, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was completed in 1900.
