For £5 (I believe it was) you could buy a permit that would allow you to take all the photographs you want. Something other museums should consider offering.
I think I've made this comment before, but the advent of the smartphone has meant that many, if not most museums have since given up on prohibiting (non-flash) photography, except where a special exhibition has items on loan. Which would be great, except now you can't get near the damn pictures for idiots taking snaps and selfies.
