I make pictures for my own edification and personal enjoyment. I don't do prints, or exhibits, books or other publications (except my blogs, like this one). And I say "make" rather than "take" or "capture" because I retain the freedom to add, subtract, or alter anything in my images. No rules or restrictions there.
After 41 years in the darkroom, I embraced digital and grow with it, although I may be done buying new equipment. $1,000 is too much for a lens. Auto-focus is nice and so is image stabilization as I grow older. Zoom and big aperture lenses are too bulky. Don't use video and almost never make more than a single exposure. I am happy enough with prism and mirror.
Phone/cameras are a joke for anything more than a quick, temporary record of something, and even for that a proper camera works better.

That said and being more or less true, just why am I bothering writing or posting anything on the Web?
Need to think about that some more…
A question worth considering, of course, but I can say that I enjoy seeing your work. So, thank you!
