“In that sense I believe everyone knows a lot about art instinctively, and that's why all my work is untitled and there's no artist's statement.”
I've always been uncomfortable about titling pictures but—to my thinking—education is based on words, so people turn to them in order to learn and understand. Put a word in a picture and viewers immediately grab that as the 'meaning', rather than open their minds to the pure visual experience…which is where I live.
Trouble for me is, computers have a hard time with everything having the same file name. [grin]
