This picture was taken in 2007. Going through the image files from eight trips to Paris, I discovered that it is one of the very few I made of Notre Dame itself, as a structure, and that I have nearly no pictures of the interior. Now, why is that?

It is a major tourist attraction, and I found myself more drawn to those people, and they are easier to observe, because they are focused on Notre Dame, and tend to ignore the old man with the camera.

Notre Dame itself, to me, is so architecturally complex ('busy') on the outside, and dark on the inside, that I tend to pass over it in favor of the smaller cathedrals (of which there are so many).

That said, I would be greatly saddened to lose it as a landmark in (and of) Paris.
